Established in 1984, St. Vincent’s Foundation has raised more than $120 million – in partnership with generous donors – to support new programs, education, equipment, technology, and capital expansion across St. Vincent’s. We also address the special needs of our patients and their family members.
In 2024, St. Vincent’s Foundation transferred to UAB Health System and became UAB St. Vincent’s Foundation. The transition represents a significant step toward enhancing healthcare services in our community.

In 1898, the Daughters of Charity answered the call of the Holy Spirit – and the pleas of Father Patrick O’Reilly – to bring healthcare to Birmingham.
